2Wheeler floor in Cinema 4D

Post by ultimateshadow » Mon Sep 12, 2011 10:25 pm

Hi everyone!
I'm moveing my first steps in Craft Studio for Cinema 4D so I tried to animate my morotbike. Fantastic, I did it!... Or at least I tought I did it unless i wanted to add an irregular floor! I added a cube and modeled it a little to make the terrain irregular and parented it to the 2Wheeler_01_GravityDirectionMesh object as explained in the documentation and showed in this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrHxGS6E ... age#t=291s
Ok, but this 2Wheeler_01_GravityDirectionMesh object moves around with the bike model so the bike turns, accelerates, brakes but the floor (except for the rotation) follows it!...
Look this video on youtube to understand what I did: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwegC0K1DPo

Any solution :?:

Thank you in advance :P

Try to rotate the mesh itself not the transformer that holds the mesh. I believe that that will fix your problem.

I'm having the same problem. You pair the plane to the Gravity Direction and the whole scene follows the vehicle.

Still the same fix. Move the vertices not the whole mesh and you should be fine.

My problem is that for some reason the parenting in the video doesn't work the same in my version of C4D. I had to reverse the way the parenting was done in order for that car to attach to the floor plane.

In Cinema 4D you should make the GravityDirectionMesh as a child of the floor plane and you do not need to have the rest of the rig as a child/parent to anything.
