(not wanted) initial boost
Almost every time I've done a simulation I'm pretty satisfied with -- but want to go back and just tweak a few things ... I get an initial boost just after hitting the "record" button. See this example. In the example, the vehicle is standing still and just wobbling a bit since the suspensions are really bad just before I hit record.
Is this a bug or why does Craft give my vehicle a quick boost first thing that happens?
Any way to edit some settings in order to make sure this boost doesn't happen?

Re: (not wanted) initial boost
Hi Again (:
Ok, the boost issue has actually been taken care of, so if the following does not work you have an old version of the 4wext:
At the very top of the config window you have speedometers etc, and there is the "Initial Velocity (% of max)" parameter. Sometimes it can be set to a value due to retakes, because it calculates if the car has an initial keyframed velocity which it then starts off with (as an option). Simply set it to 0 and hit record again.

Re: (not wanted) initial boost
I am on up2date and I haven't gotten any update warnings in Maya (ever, actually).
Earlier I had the same issue (8 days ago) with having an old version of ExtraWheel installed and I was told to download the latest version. I downloaded and installed the bundle off your website but that did not help. It turned out that that newest version of ExtraWheel was not included in the bundle at the moment (which was an RC release I believe) -- and the bundle was updated (without having a version change on your website, which by the was is very confusing).
Could it be that this time the same thing happened; the latest version of 4WheelerExt is not included in the downloadable bundle?
I've attached my scene and you can have a look. Try start recording at frame 570. Even if I zero out initial velocity I get a boost at the beginning of the simulation.
If I go into the license manager it says that 4WheelerExt is version 8.1.11.

Re: (not wanted) initial boost
hi Fredrik.
I have looked at your scene and cannot understand what may have happened. When make a resimulation the resimulated drive path is totally different. The path should be equal if you do it from frame 1, and it is not. Something must have gone wrong in the saving process. I could have Micael take a look at it, but he is on vacation (as with almost all others at the office *-)
Unfortunately the only recommendation I can give you at this time is to record the simulation again...

Re: (not wanted) initial boost
That's what I did in the end. And I had to manually take away the funny boosts (or if I reinitialize, the "cut" in animation that will appear).
But this has so far happened on three different scenes ...so it's not a one time thing.

Re: (not wanted) initial boost
Is it possible that you are importing the animation data?
Re: (not wanted) initial boost
I'm not importing any animation data, however, I am using references.
We've got the rigged model in its own scene (no animation data) which we reference into our animation scene where we create the Craft simulations.

Re: (not wanted) initial boost
Hmm, Micael (Head of Systems Dev) is back from his vacation on monday, I'll talk to him about this.
Re: (not wanted) initial boost
I am having this problem too, in 10.1.4, without using any initial velocity. The car just shoots off at double speed when I restart recording at anywhere but frame 1! Any ideas?
