Pre Rigged Models where to save them

Post by gbovs » Sat Jul 31, 2010 6:42 pm

Hi all

I am new to this so bear with me I am very good with computers and software but new to Craft Dir Studio.

What I wanted to know is where to place Pre Rigged Models (do they go in their own directory or do they go in the main Craft Animations folder)

Many thanks for any help

Nice site well laid out and a lot of detail

Hi bgovs, welcome to the forum!

Basically, there are two forms of PRMs. One is the full rig, containing a high-poly model rigged with CDS. This you save simply by saving the native scene file, pretty much to a location where you can find it whenever you need it.

The second form, which is a bit more advanced, is to save rigs of CDS tools not yet rigged to a high-poly model. These are for more abstract use and is stored in a .prm file. You create these by using the "save selected..." menu item in the CDS main menu.
I recommend you save these files to your "home folder"/Craft Animations/directorstudio/prm (create it if it does not exist). This way the prm will appear in the prm list next time you start Craft Director Studio.
