Hey everybody,
Take a look at my newest animation.
Do you notice how the vehicle's movement seem very jittery? I originally simulated them on a lower res mesh version of a Vue terrain and they looked fine. I then imported in a higher res mesh, linked the appropriate items (4wheel ext) and resimulated. Any ideas off hand?

I agree on the animation, apart from that, it looks great. But couldn't you use the low-poly ground for interaction with the vehicle? Is was it too low detail?Enigma229 wrote:Hey everybody,

Otherwise you could make a "ghost surface" (for the vehicles to drive on) which is something in between the low-poly and high-poly mesh.
Another option would be to mess around with the suspension settings. Front/Back Stiffness and Damping. To make the vehicle a little more forgiving when driving on rough terrain.
You can also try and tinker with the "Maximum Spring Velocity (Radius Rel)" setting (Jumping Parameters group). I'm not 100% sure that would solve the problem. Luigi Tramontana (4-Wheeler Extended's creator) will have to confirm that.
Re: Animation jitters
The low poly ghost terrain didn't match the higher poly Vue terrain very well. I guess some settings should of been changed when I resimulated it to the higher poly terrain. I added some camera shake in post and I think it masks the jitters some what. At this point it, I have no desire to go back and redo it.

My guess is that you either have too stiff suspension or that your Maximum Forward/Side Tilt Angle are to small. The cars also seem to drive too fast for that particular road.
You could also try using the latest version of 4wext found in the BETA versions page: http://forum.craftanimations.com/viewforum.php?f=12
In this version there is a parameter far down called tire pressure. Decrease it to say 0.5 and resimulate.
