Hello gcpdesign,

I was able to re-create the error and we will have to take a look at this. A workaround you can use in the meanwhile is this:
  • * Go into the configuration window for Craft 4-Wheeler Extended
    * Edit the "Ray Multiplier" to 1 (Ray Cast Multiplier group)
    * Disable the "Use Fast Ray Cast" checkbox (Ray Cast Multiplier group)

Yeah when you're not using Fast Ray Cast, Craft 4-Wheeler Extended can only interact with 1 object.

Hi,

This apporoach makes the simulation very very slow and impossible to actually do anything.

Any other suggestions?

By the way is there any reason why even normal simulation is very very slow in softimage xsi?

Make sure Ray Multiplier is 1 and not 10, if you haven't already. If the simulation still runs slow you can try and decrease the amounts of polygons your ground has. If you don't want to edit the detail of the ground, you can create a "ghost ground" that has a few polygons that you drive on but no polygons on the sections that you won't be driving on. Don't render this "ghost ground".

I'm having a similar issue in Max 2010. Everything works fine unlinked to a ground plane. As soon as i link to any geo, even a simple plane, the car bounces backwards and floats away... spastically.

Posted too soon... found a fix in another thread.
Unchecking "Use Fast Ray Cast" seemed to fix it.

Be sure to lower Ray Multiplier to '1' instead of 10 as well, it will increase the performance.
