extraweel scale problem?

Post by Xerxes » Thu Jul 10, 2008 9:07 am

Im having this weird problem with the extraweels scaleing up. I can add the weels. everything works great. I save. Then suddenly for no reason I can see all the extra weels scaleup to a massive size turning them into just a big disc. Anyone know?

Hello Xerxes, are you using the latest version of Craft Director Tools? Also, which 3d application are you using? 3ds MAX/Maya? And which version?

Update: I tried this in Maya 2008 with the latest version of Craft Director Tools and I was not able to re-create the problem. I know this is has been a bug in the past that we've fixed so I would guess that you don't have the latest version of Craft Director Tools.

I also have a weird problem with extrawheel.

I'm simply creating it, scaling and positioning it, parenting the gravityMesh to the ground plane, parenting in the suspensionMesh under the chassisRelocatorMesh and then I hit record... (as instructed in the manual).

Check this screencap.

What am I doing wrong?
I'm on Director Tools 1.8.1 on Maya 2008 32-bit.

This bug was corrected in the the latest version of Craft Director Tools, released 2008-07-16 [Update: It was released 2008-07-23]. Please download and install it (no need to uninstall your current version) and you shouldn't encounter this problem (it only occurs when using NURBS surfaces in Maya).

Oh allright. Which version is this?
I downloaded and installed the bundle listed on your front page. Is that not the 1.8.1 version?

I downloaded the file from the link specified in your previous post, installed it, launched my scene and created an extrawheel. Same issue again.

Can I somehow dig up the version number of my plugin installed?

Sorry Fredrik, I realized this when I went to bed last night that the version I was referring to was only a release candidate, we never released it. We haven't found any issues with it though so we will probably release it today. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

UPDATE: The latest bundle has been uploaded to our site and is ready to be downloaded.
