Extra Wheel Inclusion Issue

Post by matt43452 » Thu Jul 16, 2009 7:02 pm

I work for a company that has Craft Director v2.06 and have recently been familiarizing myself with this plug-in.

I have run through the FAQ's and looked at the "manual" section on the site. My problem is I can get my model rolling just fine with the 4 Wheeler Extended tool, but I am having issues with getting the extra wheel hooked up. I include it in my scene, but the wheel doesn't rotate.

The hierarchy in my scene is "extra wheel chassis suspension" is a child of the "car body mesh" and I've set up the scene so that the "wheel mesh" follows the suspension. The extra wheel apparatus follows the vehicle, but it doesn't react (rotate, react to potholes, etc.).

I've run through the "8 wheel APC" and didn't find anything addressing the linking of the extra wheel to a vehicle.

My initial thought was to just read through the user guide but - to my knowledge - there isn't one. Since this program was downloaded before I got here, I am not privy to any documentation that would have accompanied the download.

Thanks for any help!

Hello Matt,

Is the car recording just fine but not the ExtraWheel? Are you sure you have recorded the ExtraWheel? Make sure that the checkbox next to ExtraWheel in the plug-in tree list is check and then press Resimulate and see if there's any difference.

Let me know if you're still experiencing problems.

Hi Carl......thanks for the speedy reply.

I figured it out. I knew it was one little thing I wasn't doing and it turns out that one little thing was highlighting both the four wheeler object AND the extra wheel object on the menu before I hit the "record" button. So I wasn't recording the extra wheel.

Thanks for the offer of assistance - I'm sure I'll be back sometime in the near future!
